Hay for Sale

We offer a wide selection of superior quality and predominantly locally grown feed. We currently cultivate approximately 2,000 acres throughout the region all of which is farmed at the highest standard to provide top-notch bales for your animals. This high fiber, low sugar and starch content hay, make it a rescue feed for horses suffering from several debilitating diseases and conditions. While our selection may vary depending on the season, our products include:

ALFALFA: Alfalfa hay is an excellent source of good quality protein and fiber. Alfalfa is a legume hay in the pea family and is sometimes called “lucerne”. These hays are higher in protein and minerals and are more palatable than grass hays. Alfalfa in particular is high in energy and is an excellent source of vitamins and minerals. When properly cured, alfalfa is the best of the legume hays from a nutrient standpoint. It has the most feed value of all the perennial pasture forages. Alfalfa is used for horses, dairy cows, beef cattle, sheep, chickens, turkeys and other farm animals.

BERMUDA GRASS: Bermuda Grass is a perennial warm season grass which is very drought tolerant and when irrigated, produces a high-quality grass hay. Bermuda Hay has become a very popular feed in the United States for horses and it is also fed to some dairy and beef cattle across the U.S. Grading of Bermuda Hay is based on visual inspection where we evaluate the color, fiber length, texture, and purity. It is a great source of vitamin A and calcium, with lower protein levels than alfalfa hay.

COASTAL OAT HAY: Our coastal oat hay is cut between the milk and dough stage with green color in the stems. It is not irrigated to ensure a high grain to stem ratio, providing excellent quality feed with a low level of waste, do to sweetness in the stems. This hay provides good carbohydrate content along with a minimum of 7% protein. Oat hay is the most affordable forage that we grow.

ORCHARD GRASS: Orchard Grass is the emerging super star of the horse hay world. It is highly palatable with an abundant nutrient content. This cool climate grass has more calories and greater fiber digestibility, which translates into potentially less grain the horse would eat to satisfy energy and protein requirements.

TEFF GRASS: Teff hay is a fine stemmed, fast growing, high yielding, summer annual grass. But what really makes Teff Grass unique and exciting is its nutrient content. Teff has a moderate protein and calorie content with a low sugar/starch content. Teff is fine stemmed, leafy and “soft” which is very palatable to horses. The high fiber, low sugar and starch content make this a rescue feed for horses suffering from many, and some debilitating, disease and conditions. Teff Grass is a unique forage with many benefits for horses.

TIMOTHY HAY: Timothy hay is the most digestible of all hays and is one of the most popular hay feeds for horses. The hay is a late-maturing high fiber bunchgrass with a relatively low protein content. Horse owners have found that Timothy hay promotes a shiny coat, good digestion, bowel regularity, and a healthy weight. It is also excellent for colic prone, protein-sensitive, and obese horses.

THREE GRAIN FORAGE HAY (Beardless Barley, Beardless Wheat, and Oats): On their own, each of these grains provide a high level of nutritional value. When combined, this is an excellent forage that has proven to offer a wide spectrum of nutrients for balanced nutrition and palatibility

Our 3-way forage grain hay is cut at the optimal time, with green stems and heavy grain to ensure excellent feed for horses, cattle, goats, and sheep. It is all locally grown and not irrigated, ensuring a high ratio of grain to fine stems.
